So what do you think this is?

Welcome to ‘Alan’s Blog’; a place for a little fun as well as some interesting thoughts.

This picture has been up since February. OK - I guess I’m going to have to share the answer with you now as no one has come up with the correct answer! It’s actually silicone tubing with condensate trapped inside the coiled tubing. This was identified following troubleshooting a ‘failed’ equilibration time acceptance criterion. The advice for you is never to take something like this ‘failure’ at face value. Before I was commissioned to resolve this companies problem they had struggled to meet their PQ study requirements. Once I had determined what was going on with the process, I gave proposals to fix the problem.

It’s pretty obvious Rocco - you were the closest!

Drop me an email with your answer. If you are happy to have the email content, your name etc. posted here in this blog just let me know in your response. Look forward to hearing from you.

Well, the first response is from the United States of America, and it’s from Rocco at 19:40 UK time on Friday 27th February 2009.
Rocco you are now famous as the first person to hit this blog! Sadly you are wrong on both counts, but thank you so much for participating. Beam me up Scottie!

Alan,
Great Website!!  I will certainly recommend it for anyone looking for practical solutions to their sterilization needs.

As far as what I think this is a picture of:

1) a piece of tubing that has been slit and curved open to insert a TC.

2) the deck of a Star Wars like Starship with the side bored out to accept an incoming friendly intergalactic spacecraft.  (I am watching too much Star Wars with my 6 year old).

Kind Regards,
Rocco
